Celebrating 25 Years of Dynamic Logistic Systems B.V.
10. July 2024
From the founding in 1999 to our current standing as a well-respected provider of intralogistic subsystems, our journey at Dynamic Logistic Systems B.V. has been shaped by a pioneering spirit and a commitment to excellence. Our story traces back to 1997 when the late Mr. R.R. Hollander, co-founder of Nedcon Magazijninrichting B.V., received a pivotal request from Albert Heijn, the largest food retailer in the Netherlands, to develop an automated solution for full case order picking. This momentous inquiry laid the groundwork for the creation of the Order Release Module (ORM) and ultimately, the establishment of Dynamic Logistic Systems in 1999. The first two ORM’s, deployed at Albert Heijn in 2002 and 2005, proved to be remarkably efficient, withstanding the test of time and remaining fully operational to this day. The success at AH in the Netherlands spurred further deployments at ICA, former AH’s sister company in Sweden, where an additional 3 ORM’s were built in 2006 and 2007. Since these pioneering implementations, Dynamic Logistic Systems has continued to evolve and innovate, refining the ORM and expanding our portfolio to include a range of efficient material handling solutions. From Accumulating Friction-Drive™ Conveyors and the revolutionary DLS Trolley to Sequencers for high-speed sortation including DLS 90-degree diverts, our products simplify logistics while ensuring peak efficiency and quality. Joining the ROFA Industrial Automation AG Group in 2015 advanced the professional development of DLS. Our collaboration with US distributor DMW&H in 2018 further expanded our reach, more permanent positioning our innovative DLS products on the US market. As we remember 25 years of growth, resilience, and innovation, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our clients, partners, and team members who have played a key role in our success. Your trust and support have fueled our journey and inspired us to continually push the boundaries of what’s possible in intralogistics. Here’s to celebrating the past and embracing the future with optimism and determination. Thank you for being part of our success....

How to improve the performance of your case picking solution with a sequencer
3. October 2020
Speed is of the essence in today’s marketplace. Customers are increasingly expecting to be able to buy and receive any one of millions of products from around the world with faster and faster delivery times. What does this mean for suppliers and manufacturers of the internal material handling equipment? It means you have to find ways to meet this demand at a reasonable price … and that is exactly what more and more of our customers are doing when adding a DLS sequencer to a case picking concept.DLS Sequencer Raises System Performance Adding shuttles or cranes can speed up the storage or retrieval performance of your system, but this is an expensive solution. Consider putting in a sequencer that can boost performance of your entire concept. Whether you have existing standard equipment, a shuttle system, a mini-load system, or a manual order picking system, a sequencer can make it all go faster. Real Results A retailer in FMCG who included some DLS sequencers in a large shuttle concept increased the overall system performance by 30 percent. The sequencer took over the sequencing of collected items by the shuttle system. This shift results in speed and cost-saving. Customized Sequencers The key to maximizing a sequencer performance lies in its ability to be customizable. At DLS, our compact sequencers are built specifically for your situation and can be controlled easily with a minimal amount of I/O-technology. In addition, the DLS sequencers can handle different article types in their original packaging, which means you can skip the step of placing items on a tray or in a bin.Limited space requirement Although this illustration shows a single layer system, DLS can also build multiple layer systems for compact spaces and to help you optimize the area you have. DLS develops Plastic Modular Belt Conveyor as in- and outbound solution in ORM’s
1. August 2016
New In-& outbound conveyor solution in DLS Order Release Modules. In order to meet the continuously increasing demands from customers with regard to throughput and handling of uglies (articles which are difficult to convey on standard roller conveyors), DLS has developed a plastic modular belt conveyor as high-end solution for the in-&outbound conveyors for Order Release Modules.Buffering of articles in many different sizes, packaging types and loads is perfectly under control on the DLS patented friction drive accumulation lanes in the DLS Order Release Modules. Up to now, fixed drive roller conveyors were applied by DLS in the in- and outbound areas (where instead of buffering, high throughput and windowing is the highest priority). In order to ensure high throughputs and optimal support of cases also in the in- &outbound areas (especially for small cases or cases which are not easy to handle), DLS has developed a plastic modular belt conveyor, which is also suitable to carry the DLS driving pusher in the inbound lanes. The DLS plastic modular belt conveyor runs in the standard application at a speed of 1 m/s and is available in widths from 600mm-1200mm. More information?...

Empty Pallet Collector
1. June 2016
DLS develops a unique empty pallet collector. For one of her customers, DLS has recently developed a complete new empty pallet collector. The DLS empty pallet collector is basically a solid frame with release-doors which is mounted above a pallet gravity lane. Operators can stack empty pallets behind the release doors, whereas the solid frame keeps the pallets nicely in place. Once the stack is complete, the operator can release the doors by means of a handle. The released stack of empty pallets runs on the gravity lane downwards to a picking position where a pallet truck can pick up the full stack of empty pallets. The combination of a solid construction, safe and easy handling for operators AND the pallet gravity lane to move the stack to a picking position, makes the solution unique in the market! DLS completes installation of carton buffer at Varner in Sweden
1. August 2015
As subcontractor of Swisslog, DLS was rewarded in the end of 2014, with an order from Swisslog to supply an Order Release Module for the new distribution center (DC) for Varner in Vänersborg (Sweden). The ORM from DLS is used in this project as an intermediate buffer for cartons. In the single SKU buffer lanes from the ORM, fashion cartons are collected and shortly buffered before being released to palletizers. Instead of the standard driving pusher from DLS, in this project the replenishment of cartons (which are coming in randomly), is handled by a crossbelt sorter from Beumer (Denmark). The same DLS solution is used in another area of the project where low pressure accumulation lanes from DLS (up to a length of 21 meters) are used for the accumulation of cartons between the sorter and manual palletizing stations: Swisslog has acted as general contractor in this challenging project. The order of Swisslog comprised cranes and conveyors for pallets and light goods (including the ORM), a crossbelt sorter, a hanging garment solution and Swisslog’s proprietary warehouse management software and controls systems. The storage volume of the DC amounts to 40,000 pallet locations in a high-bay warehouse, 330,000 dynamic locations in the miniload system as well as 60,000 bins in an AutoStore small parts storage system. System operation services performed by Swisslog’s on-site engineers are also part of the contract. The Varner Group, based in Norway, is a leading and fast growing fashion retailer with a turnover of 1,250 Mio. Euro and more than 1,380 stores throughout Scandinavia, Finland, Germany, Iceland and Poland. It owns fashion brands such as BikBok, Carlings, Cubus, Dressmann, Wow, Volt and Urban. In order to be well prepared for the future, Varner will in-source and consolidate its logistics operations from six third-party warehouses (3PL) to one state-of-the-art DC in Sweden from where they will supply their entire European market....

Dutch companies CSi and DLS collaborate succesfully in Argentina
3. July 2012
To realise an out feed capacity of 2,500 cartons / hour from an accumulation system of 6,500 cartons with no less than 140 different SKU’s in far Argentina – that’s a top performance! Automation in the tobacco industry makes high demands in terms of high volumes, increasing product diversity, delicate product handling, and high performance in the field of tracking and tracing. Consequently, only a few companies are equipped to supply this industry and two of them are based in the Netherlands. Together they are completing a project at the Argentinean plant of one of the biggest cigarette producers in the world. CSi industries (www.CSiportal.nl), as a main contractor, carries the responsibility for the turnkey delivery, engineering and commissioning of a system to de-stack pallets with the finished product from the warehouse into individual shipping cases (cartons with 10,000 cigarettes/pack). These are then assembled on an intermediate buffer [the DLS Order Release Module (‘ORM’) where the cartons are set out at just the right time and in just the right number of batches and mix to enable automatic loading onto trucks – trucks that distribute to the entire Argentinean market. System description: A robot de-stacks the pallets coming from the pallet warehouse at the rate of 60 pallets/hour. The cartons are then temporarily buffered on friction-driven roller conveyors by DLS’s ORM. These conveyors are all equipped with a unique release-mechanism; shipping cases are released at high speed (1 carton per 3 seconds per level!) onto the driven out feed conveyors in the exact desired order and numbers. Then, 3 levels merge into a spiral conveyor, after which the total stream of shipping cases is transported to the loading docks in the required order. The system is suitable for operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and will be handed-over in the 3rd quarter of 2012. Company information: CSi (www.CSiPortal.com) supplies systems for automatic palletising and product handling worldwide. From its position as number one in palletising, CSi is capable of designing, realising and maintaining a wide range of solutions. The high reliability of the systems and the turnkey approach of projects supported by extensive lifecycle services takes care of all the customer’s needs. Many companies, all over the world have already experienced this. DLS designs and delivers Order Release Modules for automated full-case order picking as a sub-system to System-Integrators worldwide. In addition, DLS delivers gravity roller conveyors for pallets and cartons, and friction-driven conveyors and sequencers to integrators to end-users. By making simplicity the main focus of design, DLS creates top quality systems that are controllable and affordable. An added advantage of the simple design is that DLS products require only a minimum of maintenance....
