Entire conveyor technology

for new production hall

Individual projects » entire conveyor technology in car body construction
Porsche AG wants to expand its offering of vehicles in the electromobility range with the Macan, a compact SUV in sports car design, building another strictly electronically powered vehicle in addition to the Taycan in future. A completely new production hall at the Leipzig site has been constructed for production of the car body. ROFA Group has been charged with delivery of the entire conveyor technology for this project.

Strong partners

ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AG supplied the EMS plants for this, while the SKID conveyor technology came from MOLL Automatisierung GmbH and MORATH Automatisierung GmbH was responsible for the automation technologies. Particularly positive for us: Following the successfully completed project at the Zuffenhausen site, we were given the opportunity of continuing our partnership with Porsche right subsequently.

Competence, flexibility and innovation power

The SKID and EMS conveyor technology systems are to cover three different levels across an area of approx. 52,000 square metres in this. In addition to the new construction, existing EMS systems were adjusted and optimised for the subsequent derivatives. This is the best opportunity to successfully prove our competence in the areas of detailed planning in material flow, construction of the conveyor elements, procurement, and production as well as mounting of the assemblies and units!

By enabling us to react very flexibly to the spatial preliminary conditions on site, we were able to permanently warrant the material supply of assembly and thereby also achieve the intended target dates. Sustainability could be implemented, among other things, by use of drive technology of the latest generation – with energy efficiency and long-term component availability as the main arguments.

VASS standard

As another innovation in the conveyor area, we are able to report on successful implementation of the Volkswagen standard VASS 6 in the area of control technology! The standard used to be reserved to production systems only and could be implemented comprehensively within conveyor systems across the group for the first time in this project.
