The Norwegian company Owens Corning (now 3B) produces high-quality filament glass for hoses or for reinforcing gas pipelines.
MLR developed and implemented an automated guided vehicle system (AGVS) that transports the fibers, wound on spools, from the winding area to the furnaces for the glass producer. In order for the Phoenix series transport vehicles to navigate freely and move through even the narrow passages, they are equipped with pivoting forks.
Control of the automatic transport vehicles on the approximately 360 meter long circuit is provided by the LogOS control and management system from MLR. It also coordinates the rapid action doors and fire protection doors, and monitors the charging stations and all occupied indicators on the transport system.
