The Walter Group is one of the leading providers of cutting insert tool systems in the world. Blanks for cutting inserts are pressed from a powder mixture of tungsten, carbide, and cobalt and then finished.
The MLR automated guided vehicles (AGV) bring the required powder from the warehouse to the machines in tubs and transport empty tubs and partial tubs back to the warehouse. The Phoenix series vehicles can navigate freely and are equipped with a weighing device for metering the individual raw materials.
The LogOS control and management system from MLR handles the control and coordination of the automated guided vehicle system (AGVS). It is connected to Walter’s production planning system (PPS) and receives production orders and stock levels from it.
