For the Nye Akershus University Hospital near Oslo (Norway), MLR has implemented an automated material transport system (AMT), where the Caesar series drive-under tractors navigate freely and move goods from the main receiving areas (kitchen, laundry, pharmacy, sterilization center) to the examination, treatment, and care areas.
The extensive system includes 22 freely travelling stainless steel vehicles, automated materials handling systems, transfer station equipment, a container washing system with vertical conveyor and 250 containers of various designs.
The AMT system is controlled by the LogOS Hospital control and management software from MLR, which performs operational planning and coordinates the traffic flow of the 22 automated vehicles and integrates the materials handling systems, elevators, and fire protection doors into the system.
