The Westphalian delicacy importer Rila ships to 9,000 SB department stores, supermarkets, shops, cash & carry locations, central warehouses, delicatessens, and drugstores in Germany and Austria.
In the logistics center of the food product importer, an automated guided vehicle system (AGVS) connects the high-rack storage system to the commissioning stores. The automatic vehicles pick up the full pallets that are presented at the unloading materials handling systems from the high-rack storage system, transport them into the commissioning stores, and transfer the pallets to stationary heavy-duty roller conveyors there. They also handle outgoing transport of the empty pallets and service the repacking zone for central warehouse orders. The Phoenix model automated guided fork trucks are equipped as lift stackers with an integrated duplex lift mast. The integrated roller conveyor allows pallets to be picked and placed quickly and securely.
All transport commands are generated and managed by the LogOS warehouse management software and transmitted to the main computer of the automated guided vehicle system (AGVS).
