“Team Bodyshop” of the ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION AG

BMW US Manufacturing Company LLC, based in Spartanburg, South Carolina in the USA, is worldwide the largest plant of the BMW Group with around 11,000 employees. Last year, over 400,000 vehicles were built here for the US market and for export.

These days, suppliers are more than just parts supplier to BMW. They are also system developers and innovation partners. ROFA INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION GROUP is no exception and the company has been associated with the plant in South Carolina for decades. As a renowned and reliable partner for conveyor technology and automation, ROFA, together with the BMW planners, has successfully realized many projects here. For three complex and challenging projects in the bodyshop, where the entire body in white was redesigned, ROFA’s “Team Bodyshop” was recently awarded for the „Successful Launch“ 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Highlight: Very fast installation, personal safe worker platform „FPQL“

G05 (2017-2018)

length: approx. 1,520 m

Highlight: Implementation of a fast transfer trolley up to 70 m/min, body in white storage for 200 bodies as well as reconstruction of the oldest intersection between bodyshop and paint shop.
