MLR developed and implemented an automated guided vehicle system (AGVS) for the household appliance maker Braun that transports components between the individual machines, assembly stations and warehouse. The system also integrates the materials handling system and automated high-rack storage system installed in the plant.
The individual parts required for assembly are delivered by the automated guided vehicles (AGV) on pallets or in lattice boxes.
The twelve Phoenix series fork trucks navigate freely in three-shift operations and perform up to 1,069 transport commands per shift. The transport commands are controlled by the LogOS management and control software from MLR, which is incorporated in the existing material management system of Braun.
